1. Overview

This Refund Policy governs the sale of all products and services provided by Art Apiary Studios and ArtApiary.org (collectively referred to as “Art Apiary,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By purchasing, enrolling, or reserving through our website or in person, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy in accordance with applicable federal and state consumer protection laws of the United States.

Nothing in this Policy limits or waives any rights you may have under federal or state law.

2. Workshops, Classes, and Events

  • Cancellations by Participants:

    • Refunds will be issued for cancellations made at least 7 calendar days before the scheduled class or event.

    • Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the event are non-refundable, but you may request a one-time transfer to another class or assign your spot to another participant with written notice.

    • No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations by Art Apiary:

    • In the event we must cancel or reschedule due to low enrollment, instructor illness, weather, or any event beyond our reasonable control, you will be offered a full refund or credit toward a future class at your discretion.

    • Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of notification.

3. Artwork, Merchandise, and Physical Goods

  • All Sales Final:
    All sales of physical artwork, prints, and handmade items are final, except in cases of damage, defect, or fulfillment error.

  • Damaged or Defective Items:

    • You must notify us in writing within 7 calendar days of delivery if an item arrives damaged or defective.

    • Provide your order number and clear photographs of the damage.

    • If verified, we will issue a replacement, store credit, or refund to your original payment method.

    • Items returned without prior authorization will not be accepted.

  • Return Shipping:
    Unless otherwise required by law, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

4. Digital Products and Online Courses

Due to the instant-access nature of digital goods, all sales of downloadable or streaming content are final once the content has been accessed, downloaded, or streamed.

We comply with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines for digital sales and will issue refunds only in cases of:

  • Duplicate purchase,

  • Technical error resulting in failed access, or

  • Material misrepresentation of the product listing.

Refund requests for these exceptions must be made within 7 days of purchase.

5. Studio Rentals and Private Sessions

  • Studio Rentals:

    • Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the rental start time will receive a full refund.

    • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start time are non-refundable.

  • Private Lessons and Consultations:

    • Appointments canceled 24 hours or more in advance may be rescheduled without penalty.

    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged in full.

6. Gift Cards and Credits

Gift cards and issued credits:

  • Are non-refundable and non-transferable;

  • Do not expire, except where permitted by state law;

  • Cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by law (for example, under California Civil Code §1749.5).

7. Refund Method and Timing

All approved refunds are processed using the original method of payment.
Refunds typically post within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution’s processing times.

Art Apiary is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors, banks, or credit card companies.

8. Legal Compliance

This Refund Policy is designed to comply with:

  • The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act,

  • Relevant state consumer protection laws,

  • The U.S. Electronic Commerce and Online Consumer Protection guidelines, and

  • Applicable state laws governing refunds, cancellations, and gift certificates.

Where any state law grants you additional consumer rights, those rights shall prevail.
